A NEW IRISH GAME FAIR at BALLYWALTER
Following the massive success of the 2009 Irish Game Fair at Shanes Castle, Antrim and as part of discussions on
wider co-operation with the organisers of the Great Game Fairs of Ireland, BASC NI decided to cancel their 2010
Fair at Ballywalter in favour of greater involvement in other activities including having much greater participation
at the Irish Game Fair at Shanes Castle.
However a groundswell of sporting, tourism and trade interests requested that the very experienced and successful
team from Country Lifestyle Exhibitions Ltd take the event under their wing and use their marketing expertise to
revitalise the Game Fair concept in County Down.
Thus an exciting NEW IRISH GAME FAIR - The Ballywalter Game & Country Living Fair will take place at Ballywalter Estate, Co
Down on Sunday 2nd May.
The Fair will be organised by Country Lifestyle Exhibitions Ltd and have the support of BASC, CAI and other
membership and sporting clubs and organisations and will not only seek to consolidate the attendances normally achieved
by the Fairs run at Ballywalter since 2000 but build on it by a mix of the creative and successful marketing
associated with the Great Game Fairs of Ireland.
The key focus of the new one day event will be 'back to basics' with the objective of creating a fair with the
country sports values and ethos of the old Game Fairs at Clandeboye, where the CLE team first brought a sustainable
Game Fair concept to Ireland. The emphasis will be on creating a superbly enjoyable day out in the beautiful County
Down countryside packed with country sports and rural displays, exhibits, competitions and activities with an
unrivalled opportunity for participation/interaction.
There will be a revitalized and programme of events and an improved layout. The Fair will be located around the front
of the house and stable block with the house open to the public with the normal excellent parking facilities used.
Attendance will be enhanced and improved by a high profile, multi media marketing campaign and some
very attractive discounted admission packages including for adults and families their admission to both Fairs (Shanes
Castle and Ballywalter) for the price of their normal ticket to Shanes (i.e £10 & £25 respectively).
This should help country sports people and their families to enjoy two great days out for the price of one AND ensure
that the New Fair has an attendance in one day greater than that achieved by the older fairs in two. In fact we are
confident that the Ballywalter Game and Country Living Fair in this and future years will only be surpassed in
attendance by the two Great Game Fairs of Ireland at Shanes Castle and Birr Castle.
As the 2009 Fair at Shanes Castle had not only the largest attendance of any Fair in Ireland but on the Sunday the
largest crowd ever in one day at any Irish Game Fair. It is considered that this attractive "credit crunching" ticket
offer will not only totally revitalise the Fair at Ballywalter but also further enhance the attendance at Shanes
Castle and its position as Ireland’s premier Game Fair.
Exhibitors too have not been ignored for special offers and with the organisers now being able to offer a fantastically
integrated promotional package for Ireland of the two leading Fairs in their respective parts of Ireland the Irish
Game Fair at Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 26th & 27th June 2010; The Irish Game & Country Fair at Birr Castle,
Co Offaly on the 28th & 29th August 2010; advertising and editorial in Ireland's leading hunting, shooting and
fishing magazine (and companion web portal www.countrysportsandcountrylife.com)
AND now this new and exciting early season Game Fair at Ballywalter.
Specially discounted packages are available for all or part of this unique package and we also have special ferry and
accommodation rates SO there really is no better way of promoting your products in Ireland than by exhibiting at
Ballywalter and/or the Great Game Fairs of Ireland at Shanes & Birr and/or advertising in the Irish Countrysports
and Country Life magazine.
